Class Descriptions

Our Fitness program at the Re-Creation King Club has been specially designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of the community, catering for people of all ages and fitness levels.  Classes range from between 45 minutes to 60 minutes, with different class structures serving to meet a number of different health and fitness requirements.   For your own safety it is imperative that you inform instructors of any injuries, pregnancy or medical problems that may inhibit your workout, prior to the commencement of the class.  Towels and water bottles are compulsory for all participants, and loose, comfortable clothing is suggested, with shoes that are suitable for fitness training.

 

AQUA

Especially suited for the injured, elderly, pregnant, beginner and less fit participant, Aqua Fitness provides a safe and effective workout in waist to chest deep water, thus removing all impact to the body.

  

BOXING CIRCUIT

Boxing Circuit is a unique blend of selected boxing exercises and modern circuit Training techniques.  This 60-minute class provides a highly effective cardio-vascular  workout, and is great for stress release, fat burning and fitness development.

 

CIRCUIT

Using advanced air resistance circuit equipment this class offers circuit stations which are combined with simple strength and cardiovascular exercises to provide a dynamic and easy to follow workout.

 

DIRECTORS CIRCUIT

A fantastic, athletic and fun style class using the circuit equipment as well as kettlebells, medicine balls and outdoor runs – instructed by Re-Creation owners Bernadette and Joanne.

 

EXTREME WORKOUT

35 minutes, 4 minutes per station combining cardio vascular and conditioning training in our ‘Extreme Workout’ area.

 

FELDENKRAIS

The Feldenkrais method uses gentle ingenious movements that completely re-wire your brain so that you leave each class with improved posture and new ways of moving. *There is an extra cost for this class.

 

FIT TO DELIVER

Modified Pilates exercises which are ideal for pre and post natal women.  Class is instructed by a qualified physiotherapist.  *There is an extra cost for these classes. Call Chloe on 9596 7400 to book.

 

KK GROOVE

KK Groove is a funked-up, fat-burning, dance party workout.  Dance styles include RnB, Hip Hop, Latin, 70’s Groove, Swing and Motown.

 

FITBALL

A unique and effective exercise class using fitballs plus weights to sculpt and tone every muscle whilst providing core stability and functional strength.

 

KETTLEBELL BOOTCAMP

An indoor bootcamp style class using kettlebell weights to develop incredible core strength and total body conditioning.

 

LOW IMPACT

Aerobic conditioning class using low impact movements – no running or jumping.

 

Mve PILATES CHAIR

Also known as the ‘Wunda’ Chair, the Mve Pilates Chair is an amazing piece of resistance training equipment from Joseph Pilates.  Look forward to performing all of your favourite reformer exercises on the chair AND MANY MORE! You must have completed at least 6 mat classes before participating in this class.

 

MVE SCULPT

Mve Pilates chair class which uses hand weights and is more fitness based.  Faster paced, and similar to a tone and firm class but using principles of Pilates.  There is no need for previous Pilates experience.

 

PILATES

A popular body conditioning system of centering the body, releasing stress and strengthening abdominal muscles.  Correct breathing and refining the mechanics of respiration are essential to this technique.  Class is suitable for beginners and intermediate level participants.

 

POWERTREK

45 minutes of gravity walking on a treadmill - this class is run on the gymnasium treadmills. 

 

REFORMER

Pilates class on Reformer beds. The Reformer bed takes your Pilates exercise to a new level by utilizing springs, ropes and a sliding carriage to perform hundreds of amazing exercises. Tokens are required for these classes.  Please collect one from Reception prior to class.

 

SPIN

A 45 minute indoor cycling class, suitable for all fitness levels.  This is a non-weight bearing class with interval style workouts, with an option for controlling your own individual workload.

 

SPIN CIRCUIT

A 1 hour class commencing in the spinning room. The first component of this class is spin followed by a variety of different cardio vascular and conditioning exercises designed to challenge and motivate.

 

TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING

This class is suitable for those who want to tone and firm their body without high impact moves.  All participants use steps and dumbbells for isolation work.

 

YOGA

Each Yoga instructor has their own particular style.  Our instructors mostly teach Iyenga style however, some provide more powerful Astanga style.  Try various classes to find the one that suits you best.

 

YOGA (Kundalini)

Kundalini Yoga is a science which works on the seven chakras, the arcline and the aura. You experience it when the energy of the glandular system combines with the energy of the nervous system.  Fantastic for increasing strength and flexibility.

 

WEIGHT LOSS GROUP

Lose weight while training in this group environment.  Classes include weigh-ins, discussion and educational sessions, exercise and diet support.  *a small addition fee of $7.50 applies. *8 week program must be taken prior to individual sessions

 

ZUMBA

It’s all the rage…from Hollywood to Europe, people from all cultures are doing Zumba. Recently featured on TV, Zumba is a mixture of dance and sculpting steps derived from Meringue, Salsa, Reggae, Hip Hop, Mambo, Rumba, Flamenco and Calypso.

 

 

 

BodyAttack is a high-energy interval training class that combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises. Dynamic instructors and powerful music motivate everyone towards their fitness goals - from the weekend athlete to the hard-core competitor! Not for the Faint Hearted!

 

BodyStep is an energising step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get huge motivation from sing-a-long music and approachable instructors. Cardio blocks push fat burning systems into high gear followed by muscle conditioning tracks that shape and tone your body.

 

Bodypump is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!

 

BodyCombat is a fiercely energetic program that is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.

 

BodyJam is an addictive fusion of the latest dance moves and hottest new sounds puts the emphasis as much on having fun as breaking a sweat. Funky instructors teach you to move with attitude through this 55-minute class. So grab a friend, get front and centre and get high on the feeling of dance.

 

BodyBalance Is a Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.
